History

Gibson Rural began operation in 1998. Pat Gibson, the founding director, started in the housing construction market. He was quick to recognize a huge opportunity in the rural market for construction of modern cowsheds, milking systems and their related infrastructure.

After rapidly gaining significant market share in the under-served rural market, we have continued to strengthen our position and are now recognized as a dominant player in the cow shed building arena because of our reputation for quality workmanship and state-of-the-art building and system designs.

We operate under the slogan “A company where quality is never compromised.” Today we are proud to be a sought-after name in the greater Waikato and throughout the country as rural builders.

Gibson Rural also began to expand into the commercial market whilst continuing to service the needs of rural and residential housing clients.

Brent Bird and Blair Atkinson attribute their skills and work mantra to Pat Gibson and after completing their apprenticeships, became equity partners in 2006 and 2008.

In 2009, having outgrown our previous premises, we relocated to a new purpose-built office and workspace in Te Awamutu’s main center. The new space has given us a fresh, new, user-friendly base to operate from.

In 2013, Pat decided to take a well-earned break from running the business and Brent and Blair became sole owners of the company , founding Gibson Construction.  The company philosophy remains unaltered; we continue to service the home and farm construction needs of our residential, commercial and rural clients with a dynamic and fresh approach.
